Word to yo Mutha..

Mothers' Day weekend was a crazy time on Benson Street. I had a Princess Birthday cake to construct, cupcakes to assemble for a preschool treat on Monday, and a houseful of family for a picnic on Sunday. The Princess cake was fit for Royalty -

and the angelic 3-year-old loved it.

Sunday we enjoyed chicken BBQ from the Clarendon VFD. It was fabulous! I bought the chicken from the VFD and made sides to go along, including these apple pies:













Please take the time to support local organizations, especially volunteer fire departments. These men and women go through extensive training and give a lot of time for the safety of our neighborhoods and families.

We also hit some garage sales, where I scored and awesome coffee table for a BUCK!!! I cannot wait to work on it. Check back next week for some before and after pics of our front porch - we will be painting furniture and sewing this weekend!
