If you are looking for serious artistic inspiration check out this blog by Marisa Lynch. After Marisa got laid off from her job, she pledged to spend only $1 per day for an entire year on her wardrobe. Thus, her blog "New Dress A Day" was born.
Marisa buys hideous fashion flops at garage sales, thrift shops, flea markets..you get the picture. Then she morphs her finds into amazing clothing and gives a tutorial outlining how she created the new piece. I don't love all of the results, but her vision and creativity are always top notch. One of the best parts of the process is the before and after pics. Not only does Marisa document her work, she photographs the results in her real life - so it almost seems like you are hanging out with her. (I have to admit, I am a bit jealous of her coolness..)
