I have started to whittle down my schedule so things are not so crazy for me during the week. I am stoked to start a new running program this week and you will surely hear about it in later posts. I also whipped up a bitchin' tiramisu for a friends' birthday celebration and I will post a full tutorial about this adventure later in the week. But for now, I want to tell you about my 5 favorite things this weekend. Who knows - this may become as popular as Letterman's Top Ten List!
5 of my favorite things this weekend.
1.Wegmans. Really, you have to love a grocery store that you get the effect of a Farmers' Market the minute you walk in. Our nearest Wegmans is in Jamestown, New York and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the place! Everyone is etremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The produce department is always well-stocked and super fresh, and the attached floral department is gorgeous. (I especially love the array of sunflowers and daisies that are always available.) You can get fresh sushi, salad, pizza - there is an olive bar, bruschetta bar, cheese palace (my own terminology), and a large organic selection.
2.Wednesday Night TV. Yes, I swore off television for the week but I did say upfront that I Wednesday was my TV night.. Three shows - The Middle, Better With You and Modern Family are worth saving my weekly allotment. ABC has done an awesome job of finding us three totally different families living the life. Truly if there was ever a definition for the "fun in dysfunctional" it is Wednesday night on ABC. The best part of these shows is the reality; we know these people and sometimes we are these people.

3.My KitchenAid Mixer.I really cannot remember what I did before my awesome family bought me my Kitchenaid. I love it - today I used it for homemade pizza dough and tiramisu. I want to get some of the other attachements - namely the ice cream maker..
4.My magazines. I am a magazine junkie. I do not have any subscriptions, but I am a frequent buyer at the store. I should get a subscription to some of my favorites, but there are too many that I want and I feel guilty about using so much paper. Although I do recycle and take old magazines to the public library. Some of my favorite publications are Mother Earth News, Organic Gardening, Country Living and Lucky.
5. Birthday Shout-Outs. A big happy 5-0 to Ken Carson. Ken's birthday is on March 11, and undoubtedly he will be spending it with his main squeeze, Barbara Millicent Roberts.
