Keeping it simple this week -
5 of my favorite things this weekend.
1. AuctionZip.com. I love stuff. I love things I get for free, I love to scavange and dig through other people's junk. I love to garage sale, auction, and second hand store.. This site gives you listings of auction by distance from your point of orgin, state, or date. Most of the auctions have photos of the merchandise, and there are many that you can bid online.
2. My Kia Sedona. I wasn't sure how I felt about a mini-van when I started to drive it, but this van has been through it all. And I can haul just about anything with and/or in it. It comes in handy when I am trotting off to auctions.
3. Radio. Granted, being in the vortex of the Allegheny National Forest does limit our radio station options. (I think we have 3..or 4?) Regardless, I love it when you hear a song that takes you back and brings on some memories. On my Saturday Road Trip (to an auction in my Kia mini-van) I was reminded of a friend who has passed, a Hall and Oats concert that I went to with another friend, of rocking out to Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet" album when I was 15, and my favorite AC/DC cassette, High Voltage, that I used to blare in my first car - 1980 banana yellow Chevrolet Monte Carlo. It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n' roll.
4. Craisens. Not only do I love to say "Craisens", these little treats are like candy. These little cranberries are sweet and not nearly as bland or dry as raisens.
5. Lipton Tea. I have learned a lot since going on my new meal plan - and tea is better than coffee. I love coffee. I have been able to limit my intake, and plan on giving up coffee as my Lenten sacrifice. I started switching to tea and so far Cranberry Pomegranate is my favorite. The Lipton site is very easy to navigate and informational - Lipton has a Commitment to Sustainability link that has a ton of good stuff to read about.
